The MFIDS has also provided regular cash transfers to a total of around 4,700 households during the life of the Project through the Rendimento do Inclusao Social (RSI) Program. In addition, and as a response to the COVID-19 crisis, another 23,241 households have been supported with temporary emergency cash transfers to alleviate the negative economic impact of the pandemic. As a result, over 152,000 people have been supported – beyond the end target of 120,000 for the Project. Also, according to a beneficiary satisfaction survey for the RSI program, 95 percent of the program beneficiaries report that they are satisfied or very satisfied with the program and 72 percent report that cash transfers supported their basic consumption needs. MFIDS has also launched the implementation of the productive inclusion intervention, starting with the provision of basic cooking classes for a sub- set of RSI beneficiaries. In addition, an expansion of the intervention is being planned in two phases. The first phase around May-October 2022, reaching around 2,000 beneficiaries under this project in nine municipalities. The second phase will include a further expansion of the intervention 6/27/2022 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Social Inclusion Project (P165267) into all 22 municipalities, reaching around 5,000 beneficiaries under a recently approved Human Capital Project. The intervention will target households in the poorest quintiles, including RSI beneficiary households and aims to strengthen their resilience, self-sufficiency and employability.
