The Project will close on June 30, 2023. To date, the following results have been achieved. Component 1: Food distribution concluded with 239,324 people supported through conditional and unconditional food assistance. Thirteen community assets were rehabilitated (86% of max project target), including watersheds, construction of check dams, stone bunds, terracing, dams linked to nutrition gardens or irrigation schemes and re-afforestation efforts. A total of 5,776 individuals from the targeted households were engaged in the rehabilitation work through the Food For Assets (FFA) program. Agricultural inputs and livelihood support were provided to 21,947 beneficiary households. 661,394 people have been supported with health services and 5,021 people supported with Gender based violence support services. 6/20/2022 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Zimbabwe Idai Recovery Project (P171114) Component 2: 33,937 households have access to restored water and sanitation services through 489 rehabilitation communal water points, 195 sanitation facilities constructed in 19 schools and 37 sanitation facilities in 12 health care facilities as well as 846 latrines for vulnerable households. Despite implementation delays due to COVID-19 and procurement challenges, rehabilitation of 6 of 7 irrigation schemes have been completed, 7 cyclone damaged schools, and 13 community roads is in progress. Education services have been provided to 88,516 children.
