A Mid-Term Review (MTR) of the Project was carried out in May 2022. Also, it was confirmed that the project remains economically justified through the ex-ante economic analysis updated in the recent project restructuring and the ex-ante fiscal analysis carried out in the MTR. In summary, the Project shows significant advances in providing beneficiaries with updated and integrated cadastral and property registry information; and improving land administration services. Among other results, progress made is corroborated by key results under PRODEP III, such as: (i) issuance of 72,078 legal documents to Project beneficiaries, of which 60,255 are new titles, and 49% (29,683) of these new titles have benefited women individually or as part of a couple; (ii) full demarcation of six protected areas; (iii) implementation of the Integrated Cadastre Registry Information System (SIICAR 2.0) in Managua, Estelí, Madriz, Nueva Segovia, León, Jinotega, Masaya, Carazo, and Chinandega; (iv) completion of cadastral surveying in five municipalities: Rancho Grande, Río Blanco, Santa Lucía, San José de los Remates, and Teustepe; and advanced in three municipalities: Boaco, Chontales and Matagalpa; with 106,542 parcels incorporated into the national cadastre database, covering 401,056 hectares of the 435,671 planned (92% achieved); (v) Establishment of the link between the municipal cadastre system and the national cadaster in ten municipalities; and (vi) Certification by INETER of fifteen municipalities in cadastral maintenance and cadastral updating. The next mission is planned for September 2022 to follow up on the actions agreed in the MTR. Moreover, CERC implementation has made good progress, with five out of the six selected road segments completed: (i) Murra - El Rosario - Quebrada Negra, (ii) Villa Sandino - El Guarumo - La Campana, (iii) La Palma - Las Plazuelas, (iv) Empalme El Muñeco – Wanawas, and (v) San José de Bocay – Ayapal. The road between San Pedro and La Cruz in Río Grande is the only one that remains under execution, reporting a 55% of completion and is expected to be finished by July 2022. In addition, most of the activities regarding the support to the recovery of the artisanal fisheries sector will be completed by August 2022, including the provision to beneficiaries in the Caribbean region of fishing vessels, equipment, accessories, and materials to build lobster pots (nasas). The next mission for the CERC is planned for August 2022.
