66432 Republic of Indonesia: Jakarta Urgent Flood Mitigation Project SUMMARY OF DISCUSSIONS Meeting of the Executive Directors January 17, 2012 The Executive Directors approved the Jakarta Urgent Flood Mitigation Project for the Republic of Indonesia in the amount of US$139.64 million on the terms and payment conditions set out in the President’s Memorandum (R2011-0276). Executive Directors welcomed and expressed support for the objectives of the Jakarta Urgent Flood Mitigation Project, noting that flood mitigation is a critical priority development issue for the Capital District of Jakarta. They also noted the several complexities associated with the project but acknowledged that suitable institutional and implementation arrangements have been put in place, and lessons from other projects incorporated. In this regard, some Directors asked for an elaboration on the collaboration and coordination between the central and local governments as well as with other donors. The importance of enhanced participation of households and private businesses in flood management was stressed.                                                               This summary is not an approved record.
