No II. SUMMARY OF PROJECT STATUS AND PROPOSED CHANGES Implementation in Odisha is advancing as planned while Andhra Pradesh, despite recent improvements, remains behind schedule. It is mainly due to delays in awarding the remaining contracts and implementation delays in works. Overall credit disbursement is 59%, with Parent Project NCRMP-I stands at 64.09% and Additional Financing at 49.27%. Key Results Achieved. The project has so far attained some critical achievements, these include: NCRMP-I has completed 96% of MPCS, 98% of Road works and 80% of Saline Embankment works. Under NCRMP –AF, all works are at different stages of construction. To date, NCRMP-AF has completed 40% of MPCS, 30% of Bridge works, 85% of Road works. The early warning dissemination system is currently under implementation and it is expected to finish the civil works by Nov 2017. The Web-based Composite Risk Atlas for 13 Coastal State / UT’s has been developed under the project and training has been imparted to nodal officers. The technical components led by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Institute for Disaster Management (NIDM) which include coastal risk assessment, development of training modules and delivery of training programmes were completed as planned. Rationale for Extension. Now that the project has organized its implementation capacity and project activities are fully committed, there is strong leadership and a focus within the Government of Odisha and Government of Andhra Pradesh. The proposed 14-month extension, from October 2, 2017 (Parent Project) and October 31, 2017 (Additional Financing) to December 31, 2018 will enable the project to complete the implementation of the remaining works and substantially achieve its objectives including fully disbursing the remaining funds.
