The project was approved by the Board on June 29, 2020. Project Preparation Advance (PPA) has been available since March 2020 to improve the project implementation readiness. The PPA Secretariat is in place and progress on the preparatory and initial activities has been made. Due to a lapsed loan issue in the country’s portfolio, the project is not allowed to use the advance disbursement method. Only direct payment (threshold of minimum value is US$10,000) and reimbursement are available options, which has caused implementation challenges.
