This will be achieved by improving the quality and reach of services for GBV survivors through a helpline, promoting greater awareness among key stakeholders and strengthening the capacity of National Women Commission (NWC). Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project Objective? No Overall Ratings Name Previous Rating Current Rating Progress towards achievement of PDO Satisfactory Satisfactory Overall Implementation Progress (IP) Moderately Satisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Implementation Status and Key Decisions This ISR captures the implementation status of the IPGBVPR project based on the findings of the implementation support review conducted during 6-10 July 2020. The Bank Team found that the PDO level indicators to track results show that the Project is progressing well in meeting its target indicators. The most important achievement to date is the establishment of the GBV referral platform, including the first 24-hour GBV Helpline that provides an entry point for survivors seeking support services. The Helpline has provided 11,922 integrated services (including information services) to 17,821 clients, well above the target articulated in the Results Framework. Of all the calls received at NWC, over 3,500 services were registered as cases[1], disaggregated by gender, age, location/districts and typology of violence and perpetrator. The NWC data shows that domestic violence[2] is reported at 88 percent while 12 percent is reported as violence against women. The data also shows that 61 percent of violence has taken place inside a home and 66 percent perpetrators are intimate partners. As of June 2020, NWC has provided 921 legal, 496 psychosocial, 138 shelter and 158 child protection services through its partner CSOs. [1] A case is registered if any service other than an information service is provided e.g. mediation, psychosocial counseling. [2] The Domestic Violence (Crime and Punishment) Act 2008 defines domestic violence as any form of physical, mental and sexual and economic harms perpetuated by persons with whom he/she has a family relationship and this would also include any acts of reprimand or emotional harm. Violence against women (VAW) is collectively, violent acts that are primarily or exclusively committed against women and girls. This includes all the cases outside Domestic Violence. Total disbursement as of July 9, 2020 was USD 1 million (78.7%) out of total allocation of USD 1.3 million, which includes outstanding advance of USD 196,000. 8/3/2020 Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Integrated Platform for Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response in Nepal (P155096) Risks Overall Risk Rating Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Overall -- Moderate Moderate 5.
