The Project Implementation Unit (PIU) at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MoTI)'s Directorate-General of Infrastructure Investments (DGII) has been fully staffed since December 2020, as planned. PIU staff have received Bank-led training on the implementation aspects of the World Bank's Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), and the PIU has benefited from close coordination and consultation with the Bank's Task Team. These services are expected to be mobilized by September 2021. The PIU is working closely with the World Bank team to update and further strengthen project documentation. A Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) is in place and will continue to be strengthened by the PIU, in coordination with the World Bank team, to ensure that it incorporates COVID-19 related considerations and gender aspects, including mitigation of gender-based violence and sexual exploitation and abuse (GBV/SEA). A World Bank mission for the project is expected in September 2021.
