The project was approved in March 2019. The Emergency Multi-Sector Rohingya Crisis Response Project (EMCRP) is being implemented by three implementing agencies: Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE). The World Bank Board approved the project on March 7, 2019. The Financing Agreement was signed on May 8, 2019. The Project has been Effective since June 9, 2019. The Project underwent restructuring and an Additional Financing (AF) of US$ 100 million was approved in March 2020. The AF is focusing on scaling up of the activities being implemented by DPHE and LGED, for both the displaced Rohingya Population and host communities. The AF also utilized grant financing from the IDA 18 Regional Sub-window for Refugees and Host Communities. The total financing is US$ 265 million (Grant). Implementation is underway. The project has made strong, early progress towards achieving its objective; however progress has slowed down in recent months due to the COVID-19 lock-down/pandemic.
