While awaiting for the project to become effective, the project team has been moving forward with activities to accelerate the implementation of the components. Specifically: - Under Component 1, the team has prepared the draft Terms of Reference for hiring NGOs to under acti vities relating to reaching boys and girls with safe spaces and undertake community dialogues on gender norms; prioritized the municipalities for expanding the second chance education program; and selected the 42 schools to participate in the scholarship pilot. - Under Component 2, TORs have been prepared to develop model school plans, with the support from the Safer Schools Program under the Global Fund for Disaster Risk Reduction. Activities to support improved pedagogy relating to the classroom observation instrument TEACH and the 1-to-1 peer support for teachers using COACH.
