The key progress noted during the mission is summarized below: The service trials for the two prototype trains were completed on 17th July 2015. MRVC advised that design changes suggested during passenger surveys have been taken on board. The first series supply train was received on 21 July 2015. The manufacture of EMU trains at ICF has stabilized and five trains of 12 car each have been dispatched from ICF in the months of December 2015 and January 2016, bringing the number of trains delivered so far to 24 of which 23 are already in service by February 29, 106. Another 9 trains are expected to be delivered by 31st March 2016 and the balance 39 between April and December 2016 @ one train per week. All 72 trains are planned to be manufactured by December 2016. In regard to the contract for high speed bogies supply, sanction of CRS for mainline trials has been received and RDSO is preparing for carrying out the oscillation trials in March 2016. Contractor has been asked by MRVC to provide prototype bogies for tests so that testing can be carried out in March 2016 The works of DC to AC conversion on Central Railway between Thane North and CSTM were completed and traction power supply changed over to AC on 08 June 2015. Digital Axle Counter (DAC) related work at all 19 stations has been completed and commissioned. The progress of the works related with trespass control measures has gathered speed since the last mission in August 2015. The difficult task of construction of foundations for FOBs has been completed and significant progress made in launching of girders for FOBs and other construction activities.
