Overall Ratings Name Previous Rating Current Rating Progress towards achievement of PDO Satisfactory Satisfactory Overall Implementation Progress (IP) Satisfactory Satisfactory Implementation Status and Key Decisions The National Social Protection Program (NSPP) was approved by the Bank Board on March 15, 2017 and it became effective on April 28, 2017. The implementation period is four years. The NSPP is for US$100 million which includes US$90 million for a Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs) based Program-for-Results (PForR) operation and US$10 million Investment Project Financing (IPF) for a TA component. BISP has been designated by the Government of Pakistan as the implementation agency. Specific results to be supported by the NSPP include update of National Social-Economic Registry (NSER), expansion of Waseela-e-Taleem (WeT)/Co-responsibility Cash Transfer (CCT), linking BISP beneficiaries to social and productive services and strengthening the administration of the national safety net platform. The Independent Verification Agency has been engaged to validate the achievement of DLIs. NSPP is progressing well but there is slow progress on update of the National Socio-Economic Registry. The is mostly due to BISP's emphasis on quality of data collection and time required to seek NOCs for certain districts. The data collection has already been started by the survey firms in 4 out of 8 clusters while work in remaining clusters is expected to commence shortly. The Waseela e Taleem program is progressing well and is achieving its targets. It is operating in 50 districts and over 2.8 million children have been paid based on admission compliance to date. BISP Board has approved a a plan to expand WeT to additional 50 districts.
