Credit No. 2378 BUR (Public Institutional Development Project)
Credit No. 2381 BUR (Agricultural Sector Adjustment Credit) 
Credit No. 2414 BUR (Food Security and Nutrition Project) 
Amendment of Development Credit Agreements 
(Change in Debt Service Due Dates)
We refer to (i) the Development Credit Agreement, dated June 29, 1992, for the 
Public Institutional Development Project, between Burkina Faso (the Borrower) and the 
International Development Association (the Association); (ii) the Development Credit 
Agreement, dated October 6, 1992 for the Agricultural Sector Adjustment Credit, 
between the Borrower and the Association; (iii) the Development Credit Agreement, 
dated October 6, 1992, for the Food Security and Nutrition Project, between the 
Borrower and the Association (the above-referenced agreements are hereinafter referred 
to as the Agreements); (iv) to your letter, dated February 18, 1998, in which you 
requested us to amend the Agreements in order to modify the debt service due dates; 
and (v) to the recent discussions held between yourself and the Association relating 
to said request.
We are pleased to inform you that the Association accedes to your request and 
agrees, accordingly, to amend the Agreements as follows (with changes indicated in 
bold):
I.
Credit No. 2378 BUR (Public Institutional Development Project):
1.
Section 2.06 is amended to read as follows:
“Commitment charges and service charges shall be payable semiannually on 
February 1 
and August 1 in each year.”
2.
Section 2.07 (a) is amended to read as follows:
“Subject to paragraphs (b) and (c) below, the Borrower shall repay the 
principal 
amount of the Credit in semi-annual installments payable on each 
February 1 and August 1, 
commencing August 1, 2002 and ending February 1, 2032. Each 
installment to and including the  installment payable on February 1, 2012 shall be one 
percent (1%) of such principal amount, 
and each installment thereafter shall be two 
percent (2%) of such principal amount.”
II.
Credit No. 2381 BUR (Agricultural Sector Adjustment Credit):
1.
Section 2.06 is amended to read as follows:
“Commitment and service charges shall be payable semiannually on February 
1 and 
August 1 in each year.”
2.
Section 2.07 (a) is amended to read as follows:
“Subject to paragraphs (b) and (c) below, the Borrower shall repay the 
principal 
amount of the Credit in semi-annual installments payable on each 
February 1 and August 1, 
commencing August 1, 2002 and ending February 1, 2032. Each 
installment to and including the  installment payable on February 1, 2012 shall be one 
percent (1%) of such principal amount, 
and each installment thereafter shall be two 
percent (2%) of such principal amount.”

III.
Credit No. 2414 BUR (Food Security and Nutrition Project):
1.
Section 2.06 is amended to read as follows:

“Subject to paragraphs (b) and (c) below, the Borrower shall repay the

installment to and including the  installment payable on February 1, 2012 shall be one 
percent (1%) of such principal amount, 
and each installment thereafter shall be two 
percent (2%) of such principal amount.”
All provisions of the Agreements, except as amended herein, shall remain in full 
force and effect.
Please indicate your agreement with the foregoing amendments by signing and 
dating the confirmation form on the attached copy of this letter and returning it to 
us, while keeping the original for your records.
These amendments will become effective as of the date of confirmation of this 
letter.
