During the October mission, the World Bank team learned about two fatal accidents on road sections near Sousse (RN12) in October 2017 and June 2018. The Government of Tunisia is working with the World Bank to ensure better safety for workers. Road works: Civil works are underway on all of the project financed sections, one contract lot is complete, and some are nearing completion. Social safeguards and land acquisition: The DGPC has successfully implemented the ESMPs and the RAPs for the three road sections. Reporting on and monitoring of social safeguards implementation by the client has been satisfactory. Legacy issues have been handled according to the Action Plan and implemented as part of the RAPs. A Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) has been functioning and has dealt successfully with several grievances submitted. Technical assistance component: The Trust Fund closing date was extended from 30 June 2018 to 30 September 2018. Both activities are now complete, their final deliverables are being checked for quality. Disbursement: As of 25 October 2018, the project disbursement ratio is 45% overall (loan 45.2%, grant 64.2%). Next mission: The next implementation support mission is scheduled for April 2019.
