RECOMMENDATION OF THE STATUTORY COMMITTEE

Recommendation of the nominee selected by the Democratic Republic of Congo as a vi) ber
of the Committee under Section 1 (d) of Article V of the Articles of Agreement on the p   i sed
Grant (Reinsertion and Reintegration Project) to the Democratic Republic of Congo
The undersigned men iber of the Committee constituted under Section 1 (d) of Arti :1:: 'of
the Articles of Agreement of International Development Association (the Association) hereby subi t! this
recommendation pursuant to said Seztion in respect of the proposal that the Association gran to the
Democratic Republic of Congo a graiat in an amount equivalent to SDR10,900,000. The purpose (if said
grant is to support the socio-econornn reintegration of demobilized ex-combatants.
1.     The member of the Commitlee has carefully studied the merits of the proposal to gran ;t h a
grant, and of the purpose to which the proceeds of the grant are to be applied.
2.     The member of the Committee is of the opinion that the project toward the financing of wi c the
proceeds of such grant are to be applikd comes within the purposes of the Association as set forth ii A1 icle
I of said Articles of Agreement, and I hat said project is designed to promote the economic develolii im  t of
the Democratic Republic of Congo a:d is of high developmental priority in the light of the neec s c the
Democratic Republic of Congo.
3.     Accordingly, the member of ihe Committee finds that said project merits financial assistar c!: -om
the Association, and hereby recommends said project for such assistance.
