The Financing Agreement was published in “Le Moniteur” (Official Gazette) on November 19, 2020 and the Legal Opinion relating to compliance was submitted on November 23, 2020. The Bank declared, after reviewing the documents, the project's Effectiveness on November 26, 2020. The Authorities confirmed that the project is a priority for the country, especially promoting broadband access and providing the population with the opportunity to use digital tools and skills in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Authorities also stressed the importance of establishing an environment conducive to the acceleration of the digital economy in Haiti through support for the development of market competition, a digital strategy and sectoral policy, and the strengthening of stakeholder capacities. 12/22/2020 Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Haiti Digital Acceleration Project (P171976) The project will also support spectrum management (equipment, capacity building) to improve the availability and quality of services, and the development of the market.
