The Financing and Grant Agreements were executed on July 30, 2013, and the project was declared effective on November 26, 2013. Whilst the continued preparation of project activities, and the commencement of the procurement process, is progressing well in nearly all cases, this progress is not yet reflected in disbursement, nine months after effectiveness of the credit and grant. TANROADS were encouraged to expedite the signing of the contract for the Mafinga-Igawa road section to try and ensure that the contract could be signed this calender year and the advance payment made. The cost of compensation to these PAPs was estimated during project preparation at US$0.12 million in compensation. The Bank team was advised that expropriation has been completed.
