Amendments to the Financing Agreements
Dear Excellency:
We refer to: (a) the Financing Agreements 4842-LR (Original Financing
Agreement) and 5055-LR (Additional Financing Agreement) for the financing of the
Liberia Electricity System Enhancement Project, dated December 2, 2010 and March 20,
2012, respectively, between Liberia and the International Development Association (the
Association); and (b) the letter from the Republic of Liberia dated February 5, 2015,
requesting the extension of the above-referenced Projects.
We are pleased to inform you that, after consideration of the reasons for the delay,
the Association hereby agrees to the Republic of Liberia's request.
Accordingly, the World Bank has established May 31, 2016 as the Closing Date
for the purposes of Sub-paragraph B.2 of Section IV of Schedule 2 to the Original
Financing Agreement.
All other provisions of the Agreement, except as herein amended, shall remain in
full force and effect.
Please indicate your agreement with the foregoing, by countersigning and dating
the two original copies of this letter and returning one countersigned original copy to the
Association. Upon receipt by the Association of said original copy countersigned by the
