It will do so by improving the institutional and technical capacity of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport for road maintenance planning, budgeting and operations, and by expanding and strengthening maintenance activities. Based on the review conducted by the mission, the project is fully back on track to achieve its development objectives by the new closing of June 30, 2014, i.e., the Ministry of Public Works and Transport capacity is gradually improving in respect of road maintenance, planning, budgeting and operations; and road maintenance activities are being expanded. The key achievements include: (i) 395 km of national and provincial roads rehabilitated; (ii) 51 km are under rehabilitation and will be completed by September 2013; (iii) all the activities of the project are expected to be completed by the new project closing Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR10499 date of June 30, 2014. The three-Year Road Maintenance Program (2014 – 2016) was produced by the Road Data Collection Management Unit (RDCMU) for the first time.
