Uttarakhand Social Inclusion Some of Uttarakhand’s social groups have experienced more progress than others. While all social groups have experienced a similar pace of poverty reduction after 2005, some among them, mainly the Scheduled Castes, stand out for their higher levels of open defecation and lower access to drinking water than others. In addition, social groups differ in their levels of schooling and access to salaried jobs, with those from the General category outperforming others.
