The MOH Ministry of Health has provided counterpart funds (US$ 236,000 equivalent) to support the operation of the PBF Performance Based Financing (PBF) Unit for this fiscal year 2014-2015. Initial staff of the selected PPTA firm have arrived in country and have started supporting the MOH. Disbursement remains a challenge with the FM capacity constraints. A lack of dedicated personnel in the PBF Unit to support key project activities on a full time basis also persists. Health facilities in Quthing began operating under the PBF pre-pilot as of May 1, 2014 and the first quarter payment was made to Health Centers, District Hospitals and DHMT on December 10, 2014.
