To date, the project has completed the procurement of 31 out of 44 contracts, including 18 civil work contracts, 10 equipment contracts and 3 consultancy contracts, with the total investment of US$ 120 million US$ 35.34 million has been disbursed. For Urban Road Improvement Construction Component: This component includes the existing roads improvement in the downtown area, the new roads construction in the new town area and the procurement of lighting equipment. 17 out of 19 Civil works and 5 out of 11 Goods contracts have been awarded. Total 72.4 km roads will be improved or new constructed in this component. 16.5 km is completed and 24 km is under construction. One Goods contract is completed. For Public Transport Infrastructure and Equipment: this component inludes the construction of bus depots, the procurement of clean-fuel buses and the procuremetn of intelligent bus dispatching system. There are 2 civil works and 5 Goods contract in this component. 3 out of 5 Goods contracts were completed. 250 buses procured from this project are in operation. For Traffic Management and Road Safety Component: This component includes the traffic violation enforement system, advanced traffic signal system and the integrated corridor improvement. The corridor improvement has been completed and 29 out of 38 intersections are signalized with intersection channelization improvement. For Instructional Capacity Development Component: This component includes the technical assistance for project implementation, thematic studies, training and study tours, and project management consulting serive. . Three out of four contracts have been awarded. The project management consulting firm has been involved into the daily project implementation. The comprehensive transport study in Yining started recently.
