Ha'apai airport work is delayed due to difficulty in mobilizing the work by an international contractor. Road works contracts for Vava’u North-West and ‘Eua are close to contract signature, despite slow bid evaluation processes. The Vava’u South-West roadworks contract bid evaluation is still underway but completion is expected soon. The bidding documents for Tongatapu Liku Road and Loto Road are under finalization. The US$2.9 million of Contingency Emergency Response Component (CERC) funding is being used to procure medical equipment and supplies for health system strengthening and COVID-19 preparedness. A total of eight (8) procurement packages were included in the approved procurement plan. All the packages in the approved plan have been contracted and the delivery of the goods will be completed by end of May 2021.
