Programmatic Support to Disaster Risk Management (Phase I) Project
Grant No. TF099391
Amendment No. 2 to the Letter Agreement
Excellency:
We refer to the Letter Agreement (the "Agreement") dated June 20, 2011, between the Republic
of Mozambique ("Recipient") and the International Development Association ("World Bank") for the
above mentioned Project (the "Project."). We also refer to your letter dated May 20, 2013, requesting the
World Bank to amend certain provisions of the Agreement.
We are pleased to inform you that the World Bank agrees to your request and proposes to amend
the Agreement as follows:
Part A: "Reinforcement of Hydro-Climatological Network" is deleted.
Part C: "Community Based Disaster Risk Management in Inhambane and Maxixe" is deleted.
Part D: "Limpopo Flood Management Pilot Study" is amended to read as follows:
"Carrying out a flood management study of vulnerable areas of the Lower Limpopo river basin,
including the provision of LIDAR ("Light Detection and Ranging") imagery, technical assistance,
Training and Workshops, and Operating Costs."
Based on the above, the various parts of the Project are being renumbered. For ease of reference, the
Appendix to this letter reflects the amended description of the Project (Section 2.01 of the Agreement).
Section 2.05 of the Agreement is being amended as follows:
"Project Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation. (a)  The  Recipient shall monitor and
evaluate the progress of the Project and prepare Project Reports in accordance with the provisions
of Section 2.06 of the Standard Conditions and on the basis of the indicators agreed with the
World Bank. Each Project Report shall cover the period of one calendar semester, and shall be
furnished to the World Bank not later than (1) one month after the end of the period covered by
such report.


(b)    The Recipient shall prepare the Completion Report in accordance with the provisions of
Section 2.06 of the Standard Conditions. The Completion Report shall be furnished to the World
Bank not later than six (6) months after the Closing Date."
All other provisions of the Agreement, except as amended herein, shall remain in full force and
effect.
Please indicate your agreement with the foregoing amendments to the Agreement on behalf of the
Recipient by countersigning and dating the two original copies of this letter and returning one
countersigned original to us. Upon receipt by the World Bank of this countersigned copy, this amendment
shall become effective as of the date of your countersignature.
