The detailed designs have been completed and the civil works commenced since mid-January 2013. RAP implementation is experiencing significant delays as a result of inadequate budget, to date only 27 km of the 180km stretch has been handed over to the contractor. The monitoring consultant has been recruited and has mobilized. The contract for Lot 2 has been signed with CHICO (China) since May 8, 2013, and the recruitment of a monitoring consultant is in progress and should be in place before the start of physical works next year. Payment of RAPs: The client will hand-over another 21 kilometers of road to the contractor by end of September 2013. For the remaining road length, the client will finalize a definite timetable for RAP implementation which will allow the contractor to perform the works in a satisfactory manner.
