The project is progressing toward achieving its development objective (DO). The Project Implementation Unit has maintained an accelerated pace in implementation since the Project restructuring in 2017. Progress is shown in all five Project components and is reflected in the respective results indicators. Technical Assistance Teams and Regional Technical Assistants are fully operational in the five pilot areas supporting CONAF's Regional Offices and the other agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture in the implementation of SLM subprojects. There are Strategic Plans, Implementation Plans, and Dissemination Plans in each of the five pilot regions, as well as farm-level plans, safeguards sheets, and formal agreements with beneficiaries on the ground. There are 91 subprojects under implementation so far in an area of 1,464 hectares (ha); and 170 beneficiaries, of which 87 (51%) are women. All regions have Management Councils for intersectoral coordination and stakeholder participation. The National Strategy for Climate Change and Vegetation Resources (ENCCRV, Spanish acronym) was adopted by the National Advisory Council as the National SLM Framework on December 19, 2017. The ENCCRV jointly addresses the issues of land degradation and desertification, climate change mitigation (REDD+) and adaptation, while promoting biodiversity conservation. It was launched by CONAF in November 2016 and was approved by the Ministerial Council on Sustainability.
