The GPE Grant was declared effective on August 11, 2020. The Financing Agreement for the IDA Credit was signed on December 29, 2020, following the National Assembly’s budget approval in October 2020. Initial progress has been observed, including the advertisement of the core staff of a Project Implementation and Management Unit (PIMU) to fulfill the remaining Credit effectiveness condition. Given some personnel changes in the Ministry and the recent COVID 19-lock down, the selection of PIMU staff will not likely be completed until May.
