This would be achieved through: (i) the provision of grants to finance eligible demand-driven micro-projects in rural infrastructure; (ii) the provision of training and consultants’ services to support micro-project development by enhancing the capacity of engaged local stakeholders in all aspects of micro-project program development; (iii) building opportunities for rural employment and livelihood support services through the provision of training and consultants’ services to carry out pilot livelihood support services in six communities; and, (iv) supporting project management capacity at the Project Management Unit and its Regional Operations Offices for the purposes of effective management, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of Project activities. The current portfolio of Community Projects comprises 134 completed sub-projects and a further 49 in the Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Report No: ISR12054 implementation pipeline, representing a significant volume increase in sub-project processing and exceeding within the first 9 months of implementation by an order of 40% the projected completion rate at this stage of project implementation. Sustainability ratings and overall operation and maintenance data reveal no compromising on quality of outputs and outcomes resulting from increased pace of implementation. Disbursements under the Loan as of September 26, 2013 amount to $8,578, 600 equivalent to a ratio of 28.6%. Total project disbursements equal $13,193, 400 (including Government and community contributions) and amount to an overall disbursement ratio of 24.6%. A further 49 communities are at mobilization, training and appraisal stage for their community projects. The sectoral composition of the active community projects currently comprises: roads – 59%; potable water – 12%; community renovation – 9%; health – 5%; drainage – 5%; irrigation – 4%; electricity – 3%; schools – 3%. Preparation has been initiated on concept and design for an Additional Financing for AzRIP-2. Restructuring History There has been no restructuring to date.
