The project in question is the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project, locally known as Jeevika, translated variously as livelihoods or livelihoods expansion. Jeevika is a very large-scale, community-based poverty reduction operation which began in six districts in 2006 and which will cover all 38 districts in the state by 2022.
