Key project staff are in the final stages of recruitment. Once on board, several activities are expected to accelerate. This includes the implementation of the playgroup intervention in all ECCE centers, development of instructional materials for the Tuvalu Reading Program (TRP) for Years 1 – 3 and TRP coaching visits for Year 2, phased curriculum review, and resourcing all schools with IT equipment and internet connectivity. Assessments on school readiness (TuEHCI) and reading competency (TuEGRA) are scheduled for May 2021 and September 2021. Development of tools and enumerator training will commence when TA procurement process is completed. The annual school census form has been digitized and will be used for data collection on Census Day in March 2021. A template for school overview reports will be developed once census data is collected.
