                                         TUVALU - NEW MEMBER OF THE BANK


              The Articles of Agreement of the Bank were signed today by The Honourable
Lotoala Metia, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning of Tuvalu. Tuvalu becomes a
member of the Bank with a subscription of 211 shares (US$25.5 million) of the capital stock of
the Bank.

                    Membership in the Bank now totals 187.
