As of December, 2013, disbursement stood at 14% of IDA commitment of XDR 8.4 million. It is expected that, disbursement level will increase by more than 50% (as compared to the June 2013 level) and will reach 17 % of the Credit proceeds by June 30, 2014. Despite this slight improvement, implementation speed remains slow. Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR13045 Several factors have contributed to the observed delays in project implementation, which includes: (i) lack of coordination with other similar initiatives; (ii) complex contracts for which sufficient response was not received for expression of interest and in some cases even those firms that showed interest pulled out of the completion once it became clear to them it is a complex undertaking; and (iii) lag in signing important measures that will contribute to enhancing project implementation. Public Disclosure Copy This project coordination unit is entrusted with the implementation of TOGO Private Sector Revitalization Project a SPF Trust Funded Grant for an amount of US$ 1.1 m. Original closing date (September 2103) has been extended for 18 months to allow finalization of pilot youth program. Placement of interns under this program is experiencing serious delays due to an inadequate placement mechanism for the interns. As of end of November, about 200 interns were placed for a target of 3000 by end of December. Detailed status of activities under this project is given under GRM.
