A total of 25 contracts were signed since Project implementation start, and good progress has been made under Component A Page 1 of 7 The World Bank Report No: ISR7722 (Technical Assistance) and B (Balakhani Landfill Rehabilitation). Major commitment will be made in the coming months for Component C (Closure of Wild Dumps), while work on Component D (Procurement of Collection Equipment for Underserved Areas) will be addressed following completion of the collection system feasibility study planned for August 2012. To date, disbursements under the Project have reached USD13.3 million, equivalent to 45 percent of funds. A substantial share of funds will be disbursed in the coming months for the closure of wild dump sites, with total commitments above 70 percent of funds.
