INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF GOVERNORS Resolution No. 651 Parental Leave for Executive Directors and their Alternates RESOLVED: THAT, effective July 1, 2016, each Executive Directors and Alternate of an Executive Directors shall be entitled to leave as follows: 1. Seventy (70) working days of leave in conjunction with the pregnancy and the delivery of a child by such individual, or ten (10) working days if the Executive Director or Alternate is not the birthmother. 2. Seventy (70) working days of leave when becoming the primary caregiver of an adopted or surrogate child, or ten (10) working days when not the primary caregiver. In addition to the above, an Executive Director or Alternate shall be entitled to twenty (20) days of additional leave (i) in connection with multiple births in one delivery and/or medical complications resulting from the delivery, or (ii) in the case of adoption of multiple children at the same time or multiple births of children through surrogacy. The administration of this benefit shall be guided by the general practices of the administration of similar benefits for the staff of the World Bank. (Adopted on July 28, 2016)
