Additional Contribution to the International Bank for Reconstruction and
Development (the IBRD), as Trustee of the Trust Fund for the Global
Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (MTO No. 069001)
Dear Mr. Matt6i:
We refer to the Contribution Agreement between the Government of France (the
")onor") and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development ("IBRD"), as
1 rustee of the Trust Fund for Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
(he "Trust Fund"), and acknowledged by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis
ard Malaria (the "Global Fund") effective October 2, 2002 (the "Contribution
A2reement).
We are pleased to acknowledge the intention of the Donor to make available to
the- IBRD an additional sum of Euro One Hundred Fifty Million (EUR 150,000,000) (the
"?idditional Contribution") as an additional grant for the Trust Fund. This represents the
fitt tranche of the Donor's contribution to the Global Fund for 2012.
The Donor understands and agrees that the IBRD shall administer the
Contribution in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contribution Agreement.
The Additional Contribution will take the form of promissory notes (the
"Promissory Notes") totaling EUR 150,000,000 payable on demand which will be
d.posited into such bank account designated by the IBRD   promptly following
countersignature of this agreement by the Donor and submission of a payment request by
IIRD. These promissory notes will be encashed in accordance with the following
payment schedule:
1) EUR 50 million on or before December 30, 2012
2) EUR 50 million on or before December 30, 2013
3) EUR 50 mill:on on or before December 30, 2014


The IBRD will disclose this Agreement and related information on this Trust
FL nd in accordance with the World Bank Policy on Access to Information. By entering
in o this Agreement, the Donor consents to such disclosure.
This letter shall, upon your confirmation in the manner indicated below, constitute
ai agreement between the Donor aid the IBRD.
