The latest progress for implementing each of the five project components is as follows: A. Construction of Wastewater Collection System: The completed investments accounted for 80.5% of the total investment for this component. The construction of the remaining works to be accelerated includes Jin-Yi-Lu Bridge and Bin-He-Xi-Lu Bridge, which has completed 70% and 80% of the investment, respectively. Comprehensive Storm-water Management and River-Bank Environmental Restoration: The completed investment reached 100% (including quality-guarantee funds). The construction of works has been fully completed with good quality and outcomes; C. Integrated Gully and Canal Improvement: The completed investment reached 100% (including quality-guarantee funds). The construction of works has been fully completed with good quality and outcomes; D. Promotion of Treated Wastewater Reuse: (1) There have been substantial progress on this component where the treated wastewater is being transported with pipelines across the river to the reuse sites as a completed part of the on-going construction of the Jin-Yi-Lu Bridge associated with the Component A. Because of this good progress, the PDO target or amount of wastewater reuse has been fully met; and (2) The completed investment reached 70% for this component including the three studies planned, namely study on wastewater reuse, study on the impact of the reused water quality on the irrigation and landscape areas; and study on drainage of water-logging areas in Xining City. All three study reports have been completed for mid-term review and will be revised based on the comments. The final reports will be completed by May 15, 2021; and E. Project Management and Institutional Capacity Building: The completed investment reached 67% of the total investment planned under this component. Some activities (e.g. overseas study tours and attending international workshops and seminars) have been replaced by activities with reduced costs (e.g. virtual workshop and meetings etc.) given the impact of COVID-2019. All the activities will be fully completed by May 15, 2021 to reach the original objectives planned for this component. The next mission is tentatively planned in May or early June, 2021.
