Surveys were used to quantify the substantial structural changes that have occurred in the major world jute markets since the late 1960s and to identify constraints to further growth in jute consumption during the remainder of the 1980s. The promising prospects for increased use of jute sacks and wrapping fabrics for packaging agricultural inputs and produce in many developing countries contrast sharply with poor growth prospects for jute consumption...
