Overall, Program implementation continues to be on track and considering the status of the current program action plans and stakeholders’ continuous efforts, the team believes that PDOs could be achieved by the end of the Program (June 30, 2023). To date, the Program has been able to achieve that: a) all local governments have received unconditional grants in 2020, b) 502,000 people in disadvantaged areas benefit from infrastructure investments (515 km of roads or 3662 streets rehabilitated or constructed and 5400 street lights constructed). As the Program entered its last two years of implementation, and to ensure that all activities are completed by the end of the Program and that solutions are found as soon as problems arise, the Bank team and government agreed to hold regular (2-3 months) short technical missions, in addition to the bi-yearly comprehensive ones. The next technical mission will be held in November 2021.
