                Republic of Zambia: Third Poverty Reduction Support Credit

                                 SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION

                               Meeting of the Executive Directors

                                           May 3, 2012


      The Executive Directors approved the Third Poverty Reduction Support Credit to the
Republic of Zambia in the amount of SDR 19.3 million (US$30 million equivalent) on the
payment terms and conditions set out in the President’s Memorandum (IDA/R2012-0091).

        Directors supported the operation and its alignment with the priorities set forth in the
Country Assistance Strategy. Directors welcomed the authorities’ commitment to maintain
macroeconomic stability and encouraged continued reforms to advance the Government’s
strategy to promote more sustainable and inclusive growth in Zambia, including in the area of
public financial management. Finally, Directors highlighted the importance of effective donor
collaboration and alignment, and urged close coordination among the cooperating partners to
ensure effective implementation.





