Dear Dr. Abraham,
Ethiopia: Multi-Donor Trust Fund for General Education
Quality Improvement Project H (TF0A 6267)
Amendment No. 1 to the Grant Agreement
1.     We refer to the Grant Agreement ("Agreement") dated February 12, 2018 between the International
Development Association ("World Bank"), acting as administrator of grant funds provided by various donors
under the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for General Education Quality Improvement Project II (MDTF), and the
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia ("Recipient").
2.           We are pleased to inform you that the World Bank has received part of the donor's
commitment as additional funds to support the MDTF activities. Therefore, in order to provide these funds
to the Recipient, we propose to amend the Agreement as follows:
(a) Section 3.01 of Article III of the Agreement is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.01. The World Bank agrees to extend to the Recipient, on the terms and conditions set forth
or referred to in this Agreement, a grant in an amount not to exceed eighteen million one
hundred ninety thousand nine hundred seventy- nine United States Dollars (USD 18,190,979)
("Grant") to assist in financing the Project."
(b) The table in Section IV.A.2 of Schedule 2 to the Grant Agreement is deleted in its entirety and is
replaced with the following:

3.     All other provisions of the Agreement, which are not expressly modified in accordance with this
amendment letter remain unchanged.
4.     Please confirm your agreement with the foregoing on behalf of the Recipient by signing, dating
and returning to us the enclosed copy of this amendment letter. Upon receipt by the World Bank of a
copy of this amendment letter countersigned by you, this amendment will become effective as of the
date of countersignature.
