Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Government of Bangladesh has imposed a nationwide lockdown since March 26 2020. The approval from the Planning Commission was delayed due to this nationwide lockdown, which was ultimately obtained on an emergency basis on May 4, 2020. With the limited lifting of the nationwide lockdown on June 1, 2020, the signing was thus held, and the Financing Agreement for this project was finally signed on June 04, 2020. The MOHFW will be contracting out four United Nations Agencies, i.e. International Organization for Migration (IOM), World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to implement specific project activities given their comparative advantage in similar refugee and fragility related contexts in delivering quality and timely work.
