The 20 contracts awarded in this component amount to US$ 99.3 million. Preliminary works on these contracts have started. Feeder Roads (Cabo Delgado, Sofala, Manica and Tete Provinces): The prioritization of the next batch of feeder road civil works in Sofala, Manica, Tete, and Cabo Delgado provinces to be financed out of the Additional Financing loan has been finalized. A list of 43 sections in the 4 Provinces (including 17 road sections in Sofala, 10 road sections in Manica, 7 road sections in Tete; and 9 road sections in Cabo Delgado. The works will also include rehabilitation of drainage structures and protection works, culverts, bridges, and embankments. The preparation of bill of quantities, drawings and bidding documents will be finalized after the rainy season is over in April 2021. Rehabilitation of Primary Road Network: The contract for the design and civil works for the rehabilitation of part of road N10 from Quelimane to Nicodala and part of road N1 from Nicodala to Namacurra in Zambezia Province (70km) was signed in November 2020 with the Contractor China Henan International. The contractor is currently preparing the detailed designs and has completed topographic surveys. The detailed designs for the 1st section from km 60 to km 67,8 will be submitted by April 30, 2021 and consequent sections to be submitted subsequently. The contractor is also in the process of mobilizing manpower, equipment, and materials, and is building a construction camp.
