Announcement of Twenty Six Million Dollars Credit to United Arab Republic on March 26, 1970 (English)

The largest tile drainage operation ever to be undertaken will go forward with the assistance of a 26 million dollars credit to the United Arab Republic from the International Development Association (IDA), an affiliate of the World Bank. The project will provide drainage for nearly one million acres of irrigated land in the Nile Delta, making possible an increase of about 20 percent in crop production in the area.
