Component 1: Support to Socioeconomic Development and Capacity Building at the Local Level. Implementation of Component 1 is progressing well with 101 micro-projects (MPs) in different implementation stages as of April 2019. 79 MPs are completed, where newly constructed or renovated facilities including kindergartens, schools and community centers have been handed over to benefitting communities. Furthermore, the civil works were ongoing in 13 MPs, 1 MP in the bidding phase and 8 MPs in the final appraisal stage. The project is on track to exceed the target of 95 MPs completed by closing date. Component 2: Support to Inter-Community Social and Economic Development Initiatives. Implementation of Component 2 has recorded progress with first three sub-projects (SPs) with the total value exceeding US$1 million in the implementation stage, additional eight SPs in the second appraisal stage and another fourteen SPs undergoing first appraisal. Per the approved Institutional Development Plan (IDP), which lays out the roadmap to further develop ATDF's capacity to work in the areas of territorial and local economic development and to support communities in developing and implementing development projects.
