The project was approved on May 9, 2019 and was declared effective on August 14, 2019. In addition, a PPA of US$5.5 million is in place for all FSM projects, a portion of this has been utilized to support the preparation of FSMIP by: (i) financing stakeholder engagement and consultations and the preparation of safeguard documents; and, (ii) financing key positions, such as the CIU Procurement Specialist and the Safeguards Specialist, for the preparation and implementation readiness of the Project. The official Project Launch was held on November 20, 2019. It was led by President Panuelo and was attended by project stakeholders.
