Following the project restructuring approved in February 2016, the number of the Climate Risk Profiles to be supported by the project was increased from 4 to 15. All the 15 county climate risk profiles have been initiated. Four are expected to be ready by 30th June, 2016 and the remaining eleven profiles by 15th August when the study is expected to be completed. 25 out of the targeted 32 Community action plans with concrete climate risk management activities reflected in the county integrated development plans have been achieved. Over 140 service providers, county technical teams, county service units have been trained on community climate risk management. A Climate Change Integration Fora is being organized in all four counties to increase integration of more climate risk issues into the county integrated development plans. A total of 20 micro-catchment areas were targeted per county, but the interventions were based on specific value chains giving a total of 156 Community adaptation micro- projects developed and implemented. So far 89% direct project beneficiaries have been reached and have benefited from community driven initiatives, and since the project still have more than 3 months to the closing, the number will go up since groups continues to recruit more members. Out of this 49.9 % are women. No data is available this far since an assessment to be done in July, 2016. Progress in procurement of the consultant has commenced and a no objection is pending from the Bank. Intermediate results indicator 3.1: Community action plans with concrete climate risk management activities reflected in the county integrated development plans Climate change integration fora being organized in all four counties to increase integration of more climate risk issues into the county integrated development plans. Intermediate results indicator 3.2: Community adaptation micro- projects developed and implemented A total of 20 micro-catchment areas were targeted per county, but the interventions were based on specific value chains giving a total of 156 CWGs (referred to as communities). Intermediate results indicator 3.3: No. of direct beneficiaries (of which 50% are females) So far the beneficiaries of the community driven initiatives achieved is 89%. It is expected that this figure will go up since groups continues to recruit more members. Out of this 49.9 % are women. The remaining 11% will be covered from the Inter-community investments. It’s expected the figure will be over 100%.
