After Mid-Term Review, On September 1st, 2014 a restructuring was approved, which introduced an adjustment to the project's results framework. On May 19, 2016 a second restructuring was approved for the first extension of the project’s closing date for 23 months, from June 30, 2016 to May 31, 2018. On March 19, 2018, a third estructuring was submit for approval to the RVP for second extension of the loan closing date, from May 31, 2018 to June 30, 2019 (36-month cumulative period); The project is well advanced in reaching its physical targets of kilometers of road rehabilitated and upgrading (400 kms); achieve its development objectives related to strengthening institutional management capacity of the Provincial Directorate of Highways (DPVs). Pipeline of sub-projects Contracts completed: • Chaco: PR 3 (59 km) and PR 9 (40.9 Km); • Tucuman: PR 304 (86.9 Km); • Santiago del Estero: PR 5 (71.8 Km) and PR 18 in (42.1 Km). Sub-projects under execution: • Catamarca: RP No. 46 of Catamarca, from Belen to Andalgalá (50.9 km). • Corrientes: RP No. 94 of Corrientes, from Santo Tome to Arroyo Chimiray (66,45 km) Sub-projects under review: • Corrientes RP 71 of Corrientes (12 km): Highlights from the Provincial Route (PR) 3 in Chaco: The Bank supported an analytical work to develop a conservation landscape in the Region of Chaco with a Special Focus on Road Infrastructure Works. As part of the project's Environmental Plan, the civil works contracts required to the implementation of safe corridors for fauna. It is important to highlight that eight ground and aerial passages for faunas where executed, becoming the first road project in the Chaco Province to include this type of ecological infrastructure. An innovative intervention has been added to these projects to enhance the shared prosperity and poverty reduction outcomes for indigenous women of the QOM ethnic group in the Chaco eco-region. The intervention is La Ruta de la Cultura Qom initiative ("QOM Culture Route Initiative", QCR) led by indigenous artisan women to support the creation of a touristic route that facilitates direct access to markets for local and environmentally sustainable handicraft production and also facilitates access for tourists to the areas where the QOM communities are established. The World Bank has published the report “Roads to Agency: Effects on Enhancing Women’s Participation in Rural Roads Projects on Women’s Agency” to present the outcomes of these interventions in terms of indigenous women's agency.
