To better utilize water resources, under the reclaimed water supply component, two out of the four treatment plants, i.e. Ganqimaod and Wulatehouqi, and their associated distribution mains are under construction. However, due to the development of the Wuyuan and Hangjinhouqi industrial parks being slower than expected, the remaining two reclaimed water treatment plants are dropped under the project restructuring. To reduce water pollution, under the wastewater management component, civil works for the construction of all three wastewater treatment facilities, one collecting network and one water main in Ganqimaodu are under way. For the constructed wetlands, three out of five contracts are under construction. Under the technical assistance component, consultant for project management is in place to assist with implementation. The consultant to assit the BWAG to prepare a long term business strategy for the Bayannaoer Water Affairs Group (BWAG) has been completed. The clean production consultancy is scheduled for procurement in the third quarter of 2015. Under the project restructuring, the "Reduction Rate of Groundwater Abstraction from Self-wells" has been redefined to be calculated based on the reduction of amount of groundwater abstracted from the private self-wells, which will better reflect the project benefit. The revised value will be reflected in the next semi-annual progress report.
