Mary C. Hallward-Driemeier

Senior Economist

MARY HALLWARD-DREIMEIER is a Senior Economist and the Investment Climate Coordinator for the World Bank's Research Department.  She was the Deputy Director of the 2005 WDR "A Better Investment Climate for Everyone."  Since joining Research Department in 1997, Mary has worked on firm productivity, foreign direct investment, the Asian financial crisis and the impact of the investment climate on firm performance. She was a core member of the team which developed and mainstreamed investment climate surveys and has co-authored Investment Climate Assessments for India, China and Pakistan. Her research has been included in several books and journals. She has a Ph.D. in Economics from M.I.T. and an M.Sc. from Oxford University.
