The paper makes an analysis of cooperation between nutrition and community development, and why investing in nutrition is important. It concludes by explaining a number of good reasons for Community Driven Development (CDD) programs to get more involved with nutrition: a) better nutrition is central to poverty reduction and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and that development in Africa and Asia cannot succeed unless malnutrition elimination becomes a priority; b) nutrition is not a sector, it is an outcome, and since nutrition is the outcome of development activities in a range of sectors, nutrition status may be the best single measure of progress in poverty reduction. ... See More +
